Phuong Nguyen


● Currently full-time music faculty at Snow College.  He teaches private clarinet, saxophone, and guitar instruction, Music Technology, Woodwind Pedagogy & Methods, and Woodwind Chamber Ensemble.

● Currently Technical Director for the Horne School of Music at Snow College.

● Currently Director of the Jazz Ensemble at Snow College.

● Currently performs all over the US and Canada for Vietnamese entertainment organizations such as Saigon Entertainment, Fantasia Entertainment, D&D Entertainment, and 5MMusic Entertainment.

● Phuong appears on Thuy Nga Productions’ music DVD series Paris By Night.

● Phuong appears on CD’s produced by Van Son Entertainment, Asia Entertainment, Bien Tinh Music, The Gioi Nghe Thuat, Tinh, as well as Thuy Nga’s DVD’s and CD’s.

● Master of Music degree in Saxophone Performance from Brigham Young University.

● Received a number of awards while at BYU for his performances in festivals and conventions such as: International Association for Jazz Educators (IAJE),  North American Saxophone Alliance, and Brigham Young University.

● Performed many styles of music while at BYU from classical to contemporary, from Dixieland, jazz to classic rock.  His international tours include Russia, Finland, Belorussia, Estonia, and Latvia.  Phuong was a member of BYU’s Jazz Legacy Dixieland Band, the Salsa Band, and the Wind Symphony.

● Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance Hanoi National Conservatory of Music.

● Valedictorian at Hanoi National Conservatory of Music.

● Performed with Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.

● His popular band performed around Vietnam and appeared on Vietnam National television.
